TCM Announces 'Dog Days' to Benefit DDAF
Turner Classic Movies host and DDAF Board Member Eddie Muller will be showing a night of programming dubbed "Dog Days” -- showcasing films where dogs play a central role. Between the films, Muller will talk about DDAF's crucial work, and he'll also play informative DDAF videos, featuring Ms. Day.
The "Dogs Days" lineup for Wednesday, September 9, follows:
8PM — The Hidden Room (1949) / Obsession
A jealous psychiatrist plots an elaborate murder, but his wife’s dog Monty becomes an unexpected complication—and ultimately helps lead authorities to the truth.
10PM — You Can Never Tell (1951)
After a beloved German Shepherd named King is poisoned, he returns to Earth in human form to solve his own murder, aided by a former racehorse reincarnated as a woman.
11:30 PM — Umberto D. (1952)
An impoverished elderly pensioner struggles to survive in postwar Rome, finding his most loyal companion and reason to keep going in his devoted little dog, Flike.
1:15 AM — The Artist (2011)
As silent-film star George Valentin loses his career and nearly loses hope, his faithful Jack Russell, Uggie, remains steadfast at his side—and ultimately helps save his life.
